VBMT Metal Lathe Tools Turning Inserts are precision carbide tools designed for various metalworking applications. They feature a 35° rhombic shape with a positive 5° geometry, which is ideal for finishing to semi-finishing operations. These inserts are known for their strength and wear resistance, suitable for materials like steel, stainless steel, high-temp alloys, and cast iron. The VBMT inserts offer two effective cutting edges and are secured via a cylindrical fixing hole with a 40°-60° countersink on one side. They also have chip breakers on one face for efficient chip control. The smaller clearance angle of VBMT compared to other geometries like VCMT increases the strength under the cutting edge, which is beneficial for small inserts. These inserts are available in a range of sizes to fit different lathe tooling systems
The TG2115 grade insert, with its distinctive purple color, is designed for a hardness range of M15-M30 and benefits from a PVD coating. This insert features a dual-structure alloy matrix that offers varying properties between its surface and core, enhancing both edge strength and resistance to plastic hollowing. It is coated with an ultra-fine grain a-AI2O3 layer, which contributes to its exceptional performance. This insert is particularly effective for extensive and efficient machining of stainless steel under typical working conditions.
The TG1225 grade insert, featuring a gray color, is designed for a hardness range of P20-P35, M20-M35, and K20-K35, and is enhanced with a PVD coating. Crafted from microcrystalline carbide, this insert has been optimized for superior wear resistance and toughness. It is further coated with a nanocrystalline TiALSiN layer, which offers high bonding strength. These combined features result in a broad performance spectrum, making it highly suitable for general machining applications on both steel and stainless steel materials.
The TG2155 grade insert, with its bronze color, is tailored for a hardness range of M15-M30 and is equipped with a PVD coating. This insert boasts a dual-structure alloy matrix that provides distinct properties on its surface and core, enhancing edge strength and resistance to plastic hollowing. It is coated with an ultra-fine grain a-AI2O3 layer, which contributes to its superior performance. This insert is specifically designed to achieve extensive and efficient machining of stainless steel under standard working conditions.
