CNMG 643 is an indexable turning insert designed for stainless steel materials, with an 80° diamond shape and negative rake angle, suitable for roughing to semi-finishing. This insert is usually made of carbide with excellent wear resistance and impact resistance, equipped with a PVD coating optimized for stainless steel processing to improve cutting performance and extend tool life. Its open chip breaker design helps control chips and reduce cutting zone temperatures, suitable for medium to light roughing applications. CNMG 643 inserts have high deformation resistance and excellent coating adhesion, especially at high temperatures, and are suitable for low to medium cutting speeds.
